Baird clock, Venoya Tea, circa 1895.
Unusual case, it is grain painted rather than the maroon color of other Bairds. This finish is original and it is known to have been done on this clock case in particular. The lettering is cream, another diversion from the usual Bairds. The bottom door has advertising for the product. The advertisement is in relief 9 1/4" x 5". Background colors of blue, black and lettering in blue, black and cream. The label inside of the clock is in excellent condition. The works are signed. The dial pan is original to the clock, however someone has restored the dial and then pasted "Baird Clock Co Plattsburgh NY" back onto the dial. There is a slight chip on the bottom bezel on the outside rim, between 11 and 12 o'clock position. This clock is 100% original with the exception of the dial.
