Baird clock, Aspinall's Enamel, circa 1895,
One of the more unusual Baird's. The bottom door has a simulated paint can and brush on it. It is a likeness of a half pint can. The size of which is 8" high, half diameter of 5" and protrudes 2 1/2". The colors on the paint can are yellow on the brush and dripping down the can, letter "A" in silver and the paint can is brown. The dial is 11" with some staining at the edges, strong numerals and Baird Clock Co., Plattsburgh, NY USA. Label is 40 % intact. Hands and pendulum are original. The original finish on the clock is maroon. Some of the letters have been strengthened in silver. The top bezel is 18 1/2" in diameter with some roughness at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions. There is a small chip out of the bezel on the back at the top by the number 3. This clock has an early Plattsburgh Baird movement. The works are original to the case, signed Seth Thomas Clock Co. for E. P. Baird and Co. NY and Montreal.
