Anonymous (not verified)
23 October 2024
Antique clock, 11 1/2" Jennings Bros. of Bridgeport Ct, gold gilt clock with cherub. Size is 11 1/2" by 5" by 3". The case is breathtaking. The original fire gilt gold is 99% present. There are no damage, cracks, or repairs to the metal case. The dial and dust cover are marked Jennings Bros., the case is marked "JB 838". The Louis XIV style case was produced by the Jennings Bros. in Bridgeport Connecticut, circa 1890. The original 2 1/2" porcelain dial and beveled crystal are in excellent condition. Refer to additional photos. The original clock movement was butchered and we were unable to resurrect it from the dead. It has been fitted with an accurate quartz movement. The conversion was made without any alteration to the case. Even if the original movement was present, those balance wheel movements were not reliable time keepers. If the proper 8-day, JB movement could be located that would make this a $750 clock. This case is in mint condition.
