GE Monitor Top Refrigerator Clock, CIRCA: 1920 - 1930
GE Monitor Top refrigerator clock. CIRCA: 1920 - 1930 MAKER: Warren - Telechron Co. Ashland MA SIZE: 8 1/2" tall, 5" x 3 1/4" CONDITION: Mint restored. The second photo shows two unrestored models which may be purchased for $450 each. The original electric motor was not repairable, it now has a new quartz movement, the conversion did not alter the clock in any way. No damage or repair to the metal case. The GE brass plaque, four brass hinges, dial, convex glass crystal are all original. The case has 7 coats of refrigerator white paint applied, this is exactly how the clock looked the day it was made. DESCRIPTION: These were promotional items, not only to advertise GE but also the new state of the art "Monitor Top" refrigerator which ran on electricity. The was the first refrigerator to replace the old oak ice box.
