French antique inlaid 8 day Art Nouveau desk clock. CIRCA: 1900 SIZE: 8" by 6" by 3 1/2" with a 3 1/4" porcelain dial MAKER: The movement is marked with the "lion" trademark. According to the carriage clock book the mark corresponds to Duverdry and Bloquel Saint-Nicolas-d Aliermont France DESCRIPTION: Solid mahogany case profusely inlaid with ebony, satin wood, brass and mother of pearl. The top has the original 1911 presentation plaque from "The British Legal and United Provincial Association". Gift to a retiring attorney/Barrister. See photo of close-up. The original finish is exceptional. There is no damage to the case, the movement was professionally rebuilt. It has week duration time piece jeweled platform escapement. The porcelain dial, hands, cast brass bezel, convex beveled crystal and dust cover are original and in perfect condition. The clock sits on four brass bun feet. There are no negatives with this clock, it is absolutely perfect. This is a high quality, unusual shaped case with phenomenal inlay work.
