E. Ingraham Ionic Wall Clock 100% Original
Wall clock, E. Ingraham, Ionic, pristine Ingraham Figure- 8, circa 1870 - 1880. Size is 22" length, 4" deep, 13 1/2" diameter at the top and 8" diameter at the bottom, dial is 10 3/4" overall diameter, minute to minute track is 9". The maker of this wall clock is Elias Ingraham, Bristol Conn. The condition is 100% original and pristine with signed week duration movement and hour chime. The clock movement has been professionally rebuilt. [The movement was cleaned, oiled, Pivots resurfaced and polished, new Bronze bushings, Verge was stoned and polished, and new main springs]. This clock is very strong running and keeps accurate time. The hour chime is very deep and resonates, not tinny like most American clocks. The sides of the clock are rosewood and retain its original finish. The rosewood veneer is mint. The old finish could not be saved on the two wood bezels and wood rosettes. We have carefully applied 6 hand rubbed layers of new finish on these pieces.The top and bottom bezels, and the hinges are original and retain the original glass in both. The glass is held in with old putty. The bezels are solid Chestnut and Birch. The two rosettes are also original and made of birch. Nothing has been altered from its original state. The enameled dial had 3 chips and were color matched and the entire dial was sealed. The signed movement, dial, hands, pendulum, near perfect label, and glasses are original. The holes through the label were from screws to attach the bottom of the case to the wall. This is very common in Antique Wall Clocks. The bottom tablet is in gold and black with a rose in the center. The black backing has been touched up. The case is structurally sound.
