The E. Ingraham Clock Company was founded in Bristol, Connecticut by Elias and Andrew Ingraham around 1827. The company operated under several names and partnerships producing many styles and varieties of shelf and wall clocks. This model was named "THE ARCH COLUMN No. 1" by the Ingraham Company and was featured as one of their better quality clocks. It includes an eight-day mechanism with a strike on the hours. The lower door glass retains its original gold-leafed design with a spread-winged Eagle pattern. Most of the paper label inside the case has been lost over the years, but enough is retained to read the Ingraham name and other identifying words. The case displays a bold grain pattern with areas of darkening due to age. Visitors to our shop seem to gravitate to this clock commenting on the fact that it creates such an attractive and impressive appearance. Once again, this is a clock in our inventory that is priced "right" and in a very hard-to-find model. Don't miss the clocks on our other pages...we always provide a wide variety of restored, good quality antique clocks.Height: 17 in. (43.18 cm) Depth: 5 in. (12.70 cm) Width: 10 in.
