Made around 1885 at St. Georgian in the Black Forest of Germany by the Phillip Haas and Sons clockmaking company, this little timepiece runs well and keeps good time. The solid brass movement (see photograph) has been professionally cleaned and the dial retains most of its original paint--with some marks and rubs. The design on the lower portion of the door glass displays a gold pattern backed by black. There is a great label inside the case (see photograph) with the words: TRADE MARK and P.B. it also says: ONE DAY TIME. I'm not sure what the letters "P. B." stand for on the label. My guess is that the clock was marketed by a merchant who bought the mechanisms for his cases from Phillip Haas and Sons. The mount for the movement seems to agree with this opinion. On the brass 30-hour movement are the initials P.H.S. standing for Phillip Haas and Sons. The company crest is imprinted on the label. This one is priced quite reasonably for the convenience of the buyer looking for a nice little miniature for his or her kitchen shelf or den. Height: 9 in. (22.86 cm) Depth: 4 in. (10.16 cm) Width: 7 in. (17.78 cm) Weight: 1
