One of the most stylish designs on clock hoods is the scrolled top sometimes referred to as a 'broken arch' or 'whales tails'. Many tall case clocks include this graceful pattern and our wall clock from the Black Forest of 19th Century Germany has these pleasant curves on its bonnet. Note the small 'ding' on the edge of the left scroll. We mention it only in the interest of complete disclosure..it really isn't distracting at all. The eight-day mechanism runs well and strikes the hours on a coil gong and also one time each half-hour. The porcelain dial is unbroken and the brass pendulum bob is clean and undented(see photograph). The pendulum rods are the 'grid-iron' type (see photograph). The Oak case includes lovely ornamentation (see Photograph). This is truly a graceful clock that will add a touch of class to any room where it is displayed. Height: 34 in. (86.36 cm) Depth: 7 in.
