8-Day Steeple clock with reverse painting on lower door glass.

Brewster and Ingrahams Clock Company made especially attractive sharp gothic design (steeple) clocks. This attractive example of their work retains all of its original components...even the original brass springs. As is typical of antique brass spring-powered movements, the clock needs to be rewound every five or six days. The lower door glass has been restored by Lee Davis of York, Pennsylvania. The reverse painting on the glass is very colorful (see photograph) including birds with blue wings and body. The eight-day mechanism has been cleaned and adjusted for perfect operation. Made around 1845, this nice steeple clock is about as good as it gets. Note on our photograph that the door was closed so you can see the old original upper glass with its bubbles and ripples. Height: 20 in. (50.80 cm) Depth: 4 in. (10.16 cm) Width: 10 in. (25.40 cm) Weight: 5
