E. Ingraham VENETIAN 8-day shelf clock.
In 1857, the E.Ingraham Clock Company in Bristol, Connecticut produced this somewhat rare model that they named "THE VENETIAN". The eight-day movement runs well and strikes the hours on a coil gong. Its an original clock from top to bottom-the dial (somewhat yellowed with age) and the hands and brass eight-day movement compliment the original gold leaf half columns which have their share of age "rubs". The rare organge paper label inside the case completes this wonderful clock's originality. An old, original lower door glass has several "seeds" and even a 'fold' that at first glance looks like a crack...but it isn't...its a rarely found line in the glass that the old timers refer to as a "glass fold". This is simply a wonderful clock with a "bob window" in the lower glass to observe the movement of the original brass pendulum 'bob'. You won't find one as original and scarce as this in a "Month of Sundays"!!! Height: 16 in. (40.64 cm) Depth: 4 in. (10.16 cm) Width: 9 in. (22.86 cm)
