The trapezoid shaped, solid plate movement is signed by the maker and has the serial number 303741, on the movement and the back of the dial plate. 2 piece porcelain dial has no breaks or chips, and only very faint hairlines. Porcelain beat scale and pendulum insert are very nice, there are 3 good glasses and an original pendulum. The movement mounts to an ornate metal bracket attached to the case. The 21 inches high case has the original finish, pretty wood graining on the front and on the backboard. The top and tail are carved pieces merely attached to the case body, in other words the door is not one solid piece of wood. The top, base, and sides, were painted black for accent. Your choice of course but the clock would be outstanding if the black parts were repainted. On the back of the case are factory stamps of Lenzkirsch and others of what I would assume to be the distributor or selling dealer in Germany. This is a rare little clock by one of Europe's finest clockmakers and is in good running condition.
