French crystal regulator, highly appointed with green onyx, bronze, and cloisonnE. Certainly one of the more stylish and attractive crystal regulators we have offered for sale.
The clock is 13 inches high, two perfect pieces of green onyx used on the top and base. The onyx has brown and white veins throughout. The cloisonne of course makes the clock special. On each side of the front bowed and beveled glass, are two full columns covered with cloisonne. There are bronze bases and capitals, elaborately machined, as are the 4 feet that also have cloisonne covers. In addition, there is a band of cloisonnearound the top and base, and around the outside of the bronze dial, and the entire center of the dial. The four glasses have thick bevels and the front glass is bowed. The flat glasses are all good but the bowed glass has a chip in one corner. The live mercury pendulum hangs from the 8-day movement that runs well. There is an outside count wheel and the clock strikes a nickel bell on the half hour and hours. The movement is signed, "Marti et Cie, Ala Gerbe D'or". The bronze clock parts are numbered "63". This clock is exceptional, and needs an appreciative owner.
