8 day Time only movement marked, "Pat'd Aug.30, 1870", and "Forrestville, Forrestville, Conn", which is overstamped, "E.N.Welch". You should read Ly- Welch, page 116, and learn why the full black label has a small over paste label, "Alexis". This case is 22 inches high, made of rosewood, original glasses and all hardware. The dial is questionable as arbor holes enlarged, but that could be a result of turning slightly because of large screw holes. Some flaking has been painted over and the numerals highlighted at some time. There are a couple of bumps or nicks in the good looking case but I wouldn't fret about that. There is a great carved bow tie between the doors. Full black and gold label inside. Ly- Welch No. 186.
