21.5 inches mahogany veneer case has a flat top, beveled sides, and inside is 95% of a large backboard label. The case has been professionally restored to the look it had when it came new from the factory. Andrews, like many other clock dealers selling from New York storefronts, bought his movements and cases in the Bristol, Conn. area. This clock was likely made by Silas B. Terry, using a movement made by Hiram Welton. This 30 hour, bright and shining brass movement is unsigned, but can be identified by reading Snowden Taylor's article in the December 1982, Bulletin No. 221, "The Noble Jerome Patent 30-Hr. Brass Weight Movement and related movements." The wood dial and both glasses are likely original to this case. The weights, pendulum bob, and door latch, are all period and may be original to the case.
