Lighthouse clock, one of only three made by a talented clockmaker. We sold one in our January 2004 auction made by the same fellow, for over $1700. He used the best walnut materials available, piecing the eight side's together perfectly. A hinged door at the base allows access to the weight and pendulum. There is a walnut rail around the top and a walnut dial surround. The unsigned Vienna movement is 8 day, time only, typical Vienna weight and pendulum. With the glass dome on top, the clock is 33.5 inches tall. The porcelain like dial and hands are modern German stock. We see very few lighthouse clocks, new or old, but what we have seen are no better looking or more serviceable than this one.
