Rare French porcelain miniature grandfather clock. Elaborately hand painted using rich bright colors, then fire glazed. The potter's marks are underneath the case. It is just less than 17 inches tall. The French movement winds in the back and the alarm sets from the front. It alarms on a bell inside. Inscribed on the brass backplate is a lion and the letters "A.V." and "Depose Brevette". The clock runs about 2 days and alarms on schedule.
