French hanging balcony clock in a 26.5 inches tall walnut case with full turned and fluted columns that have nice turned capitals and bases. There is a balcony with turned spindles and finials on top and good carvings on the bottom. Applied decorations also used on the case front. The finish is good and the case is in excellent restored condition. Cartouche numerals on the wood dial, all good except for the number 8, which has a small chip in one corner. The hands are original and solid brass, and the pendulum is period and surely came with the clock. The dial is signed on a porcelain plaque, "Venu Laboise Charoy". The 8 day square plate movement strikes on a coiled gong on the hours and half hours. The movement is signed "Vicenti (Vincent M) Medaille D'Argent". This is one of the nicer balcony clocks we have handled.
