That is the trademark name of the clock factory founded by Carl Werner in 1826 and taken over by Kienzle in 1913. This is a small spring Vienna in a 36 inches tall walnut veneered case. The headpiece looks right and original, but we can never be sure. The door has turned fluted half columns that have carved capitals, applied carvings, 5 in all, on the door, and an original glass. The top and base are very unusual and really make the clock. The 5 inches two-piece porcelain dial is perfect, no hairlines, and has a deer embossed in the center. The hands appear to be original. The pendulum is a gridiron type with an embossed scene of a soldier with a shield, in a boat pulled by a goose. Wouldn't that be interesting? A brass beat scale is in the bottom. It has an 8-day movement that runs and strikes properly on the hours and half hours on an elaborate standing gong. It sounds great.
