Musical crystal regulator, "L'Epee Liberty Clock, Franklin Mint, No. 0163".

Offered by the Franklin Mint in 1986, a limited edition of 2500 was made, this is number 163. The clock sold new in 1986 for $2900 plus shipping and handling. The clock was made to commemorate the rededication of the Statue of Liberty. The round movement is 8 day, strikes half-hours on a brass bell. Music box in the base plays on the hours, alternating between the Star Spangled Banner and the French National Anthem. The porcelain dial is signed "France", and the movement, "L'Epee, 1839, Made in France, 3, Three jewels". The case is also signed, "France". Live mercury pendulum. The 13.5 inches high bronze case is very heavy, has 4 perfect beveled glasses, ripple trim around the top and base, carved columns on the four corners, outstanding capitals and bases, 4 large square bronze feet. They do not get much better than this crystal regulator. It is perfect. Everything was donne first class, should do nothing but appreciate.
