This is the rarest of the Sonora Chime clocks, 8 bells, chimes on the 8 deep resonated bells, each quarter hour, and chimes the number of hours each hour. The chime movement is No. 104 and it plays Whittington or Westminster. The 8-day time movement is No. 89. Both movements are clean and running strong. This very large mahogany case is 18 inches high, their highest-grade cabinet case, with shaded marqueterie designs on the front. The case was rubbed to a furniture finish. It has a convexbeveled glass, brass sash, and silvered dial. Ly-Seth Thomas, page 206-222.
