Self Winding Clock Co. octagon case gallery clock.
The case is medium oak, 17 inches at the widest, 15 inches otherwise. There is a paper label on the wood and a metal label behind the movement. The label calls the movement a "140 beat small bob pendulum". The catalogs say the 140 beat pendulum only comes with 14 inches dials, this excellent silver dial is 12 inches and signed all over. The metal label says, "Self-Winding Clock Co. New York, G.H.Deery, 35.12" ak, Movt. No. 153951. It has 2 new "Energizer Industrial Alkaline 1 ? volt dry cell No. EN6", batteries, and the clock is running as expected. The oak front fits to a heavy metal back. For reference read, "Ly-American Clocks, Volume 2, Section on Self-Winding clocks. The movement and battery configuration is shown and discussed on page No. 182.
