It is mounted to the dial board, not the backboard, and as is normal with heavy clocks the screw holes were stressed over the years and have been repaired very nicely. Additionally, the heavy metal bezel with 16 inches flat glass, strained the hinge and screws, which necessitated repairs. The repairs are mentioned not because they are glaringly noticeable, but because they are the only things we notice not original to the case. The painted iron dial, and hands, are original. The pendulum is in good condition and we believe came with the movement.
