This 36.5 inches case was made with old oak, retains the original finish and has all 5 little buttons on the base. We have not had, or seen, a better No. 2 case. There is an excellent brass beat scale, has a good amount of the paper label in the bottom, super old dial with original paint, (any paint flakes are not worth mentioning, normally a Seth Thomas dial this old has been repainted at least once), and a near perfect brass weight and pendulum bob. The 8 day, time only movement is correct for this model, and is running properly. Ly-Seth Thomas, 2004 Edition, pages 276- 277, lists current value $2000-$2200.
