Lenzkirch bronze floor clock, ca 1885. 54 inches high bronze case, 16 inches at the base.

There has been no cleaning or polishing in several years, if ever. On top of the clock are two winged cherubs holding a large crown. The basic design from top to bottom consists of leaves, and branches or fawns. Sitting on each side of the base are two figures, "Goddess of Industry" on the left, and "Messenger of the Gods", Hermes-Mercury, on the right. The female is holding a hammer and a wheel, and the male is holding a staff that has two serpents' heads at the top, and a purse of money. The winged feet and helmet signify he is a traveler and a god of Commerce. Figures on the base serving as feet are lions heads. The movement is signed "Lenzkirsch 1 Million", and serial number "177778". 8 day balance movement, round, bell strike, French style and is running. The back glass or door is missing. The dial is bronze, cast with various designs, has white cartouche numerals, outer ring marked for minutes. Flat beveled glass in the bezel. A very rare and unusual clock.
