Three weight, grande sonnerie, 8 day movement. This is a very attractive serpentine clock, with original carved multi leafed top and bottom ornaments that we have not seen before. The leaf pattern is continued on top and bottom of the door. None of the carvings has been broken, which is unusual. The 8 day unsigned movement may be married to this case. At the least there has been some strengthening of the wood movement bracket and a new pendulum suspension block has been installed. Neither of those things means a marriage has taken place, but it is likely. Two piece porcelain dial with a beaded spun bezel. There are some hairlines around the hand arbor. The original hands are outstanding, good porcelain beat scale, and unusual pulleys. Brass bob, three brass weights, brass wall stabilizers, and brass bezel are all polished. This unusual case is 52.5 inches long, showing light wear in places; pendulum stick rubbed from carrying clock with weights inside; sides of door from handling. The movement is clean and running.
