Unsigned, three weight, grand sonnerie movement, of eight day duration. Brass mounting bracket is original to the case. I have some question that the movement may not be original because the pendulum is hanging three inches above the beat scale. Some examples of the early Biedermeier clocks, in the old books, show the pendulum three inches or more above the beat scale. I report, you decide. One-piece, flat, porcelain dial, tiny flakes around the three winding arbors, not obtrusive. Engine turned bezel. Porcelain beat scale is nice, unusual brass pulleys, good brass pendulum ball, weights, and dial ring. Rare Birdseye maple case, 54 inches long, with an original carved crest and tailpiece. The wood in this case is just outstanding, and the style and color we just never see. If this clock is judged to be all original it would fetch $7500 at most auctions.
