The glass has been replaced, 8 inches brass dial is original- never cleaned, recessed numerals and minute markers, and it retains the original hands. The dial is signed, "Jn Thristle, Stogersey". There are a few places you may want to address where the wood has dried and separated, most of them around the curved top. On the bottom-front around the brass inlay, the wood has separated from the brass. You will not be able to see the splits on top unless you stand on a stepladder. The large back door has glass, and a key locking door that is not functioning, so a hand latch was installed to hold the door in place. Large chain fusee movement strikes a new bell. Pendulum lock down holds it in place for transporting. It has a pull cord on the side to advance the strike. Brittens book lists only one "Thristle", and he made clocks ca 1730. Surely not the same man. This clock is not perfect by any means, it has been around a long time, and is a lot of clock for the money.
