Ansonia Clock Co. enameled iron case, "Lucerne", ca 1901.
Excellent iron case with statue, is 21 inches tall, has been cleaned but not refinished or repainted. There are still some corner places that will take some diligence to clean. Black paint is bright and has a few small chips, really not significant. All the Verde Bronze ornaments are intact, French sash with beveled glass, one piece porcelain dial, and original hands. The movement is typical 8 day, half hour gong strike, correct pendulum, running strong. Looking for negatives to report, I see that the back metal cover is missing the little edge tab that locks it in place. Also, I cannot find this statue in Ly-Ansonia, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't Ansonia. A plaque on the statue says, "Armide". The statue fits the rounded case top so if it is, or if it is not correct, it looks very nice. Ly-Ansonia No. 1095.
