It is a good running, complete movement, strikes a large iron bell on top of the case. The movement, dial, chains, hands, weights, bell, and most of the case appear to be original. The dial has been repainted and shows nice country scenes. The top ornaments are new replacements and are good copies of the originals. The clock has been restored-refinished which makes the walnut case attractive enough to hang in your living room or anywhere you want to display a great looking early clock. It is 55 inches high with the pendulum bob swinging at the bottom of the case. The pendulum rod swings behind a walnut partition, and the weights are exposed in front of the partition. If this clock were in a good original condition, not restored, it might bring $3000, $4000, or more. The movement is worth considerably more than our minimum, and the top ornaments alone cost over $100. I could probably sell the parts for $1500 or more, but we prefer to put things together not tear them apart.
