C.1880, E. Ingraham and Co., "Oriental", 8-day time/strike shelf clock.

Condition - Refinished rosewood veneered case is in especially nice condition with an almost invisible repair on the peak. Original gilded elements are worn with a couple of minor chips. Hands are original. Movement is signed. This clock was originally displayed at the Time Museum in Illinois, and subsequently sold at Sotheby's auction in New York, October 14 2004, see lot 1121. Rear label is about 85%. Note on most of these, only the small round door opens; this one is unusual in that the entire piece holding the gold "onions" opens; see hinge at right. Height 18.25 inches
