Condition: Although this clock has been restored, it is still a nice example of Vermont workmanship, (he had set up shop originally at Dover NH, around 1810, moved to 11 Pitt St, Boston around 1827, adding the shop in Montpelier in 1832). The tablets have been repainted in proper "country" motif, with stenciled leaf border. Where the gilding has not been restored, the gesso is chipping and flaking. One dial chip filled in at 9:30. Excellent signature. A good old banjo timepiece. See also lot 295. Height 40 inches
