C.1848, Smith and Goodrich, Bristol Conn, rare wall lyre clock, mahogany, 8-day timepiece.
Condition: Generally excellent condition, exceptions noted: original tablet has a horizontal crack from door shrinkage (still remarkably well preserved), top glass also original; original dial pan has had the paint restored; small losses to original label. Case retains an old finish, with nice patina, and original bone or ivory door knobs. This case was made by J.C.Brown and has the original green paper dust cover on the back board (see green showing through lost parts of Goodrich label). The movement is the right "Half" of a typical Brown 8-day striking movement with some variation; note winding is near 5. Although this case is normally found with a 30 hour fusee movement, we have not seen this particular 8-day movement, which is definitely original to the case. Height 28 inches
