C.1828, Chauncey Ives, 30-hour time/strike wood movement pillar and scroll shelf clock. Condition - Refinished mahogany veneered case with restorations. The scroll top is replacement, very nicely done. A short section of one corner of the molded front edge below the scrolls has been replaced and would need attention. Both glasses are original, with the tablet having been repainted in place by Tom Moberg. The feet have been replaced, but the skirt appears original. Painted dial has rough texture caused by stress on the wood and there has been some restoration. Case currently houses a Samuel Terry movement. Reproduction finials are Seth Thomas style and not proper for this case (note ST scrolls in sale that would benefit from these). Height 30.75 inches
