C.1905, French, Egyptian Revival, black marble mantel clock, incised with winged insect on base. Condition: this clock has been very well cared for, only the smallest imperfections in the marble; gold filled incising is still bright, original gilt brass feet intact. The well made bell strike movement is recently attended to, and running fine; porcelain dial with open escapement is perfect. The depiction on the base at first looks like a Phoenix, but if you look closely you will see it has 6 legs. Height 11.3 inches
