Condition: Oak case is sound, with damage to the top back edge of the case where a section of oak broke off and was reglued poorly. Marble backboard for the movement has some small damage on the bottom right corner. Original painted dial is very clean and the hands are original. Spun brass bezel is dented above 12 o'clock. Pendulum rod is somewhat bent. Case has a label attached at the top of the firm "Ste Magnet, Paris". Brillie clocks were developed from a clock invented by Charles Fery in 1908; the main difference in his design is that the magnet is suspended as the pendulum, and the coil/electro magnetic field is stationary on the back of the case. I remember a man in Fullerton bought one of these from Leo Sevrens in 1972 for $500. Height 17.5 inches
