Condition: The tablet was repainted improperly with a skater from the 1950s. Both glasses are old, but replaced (wooden strips holding them in). The case itself is quite good, with only a couple of veneer chips, and the carved eagle splat is exceptional, one toe missing on left foot. Retains a good label with minor losses and had turned dark. Has a good dial and hands, good period pendulum bob with high crown ( and proper short pendulum mov't). For comparison, see lot 252. Note this clock was made by partnership firm of Eli Terry (Sr) and his son Henry, after Eli Terry, Jr, left the concern to become a movement supplier. For this exact label, see Ken Roberts book on Eli Terry (1973), page 206, plate XVII. It is uncommon for us to have two such hard to find clocks from this very short partnership. Height 32 inches
