C.1900 French, Year Duration, black marble mantel timepiece, in need of restoration.

C.1900 French, Year Duration, black marble mantel timepiece, in need of restoration. Condition: Black marble case in rather nice condition with some minor roughness on the back edges of the base and couple of the sharp edges of the base. Original porcelain dial that reads: "Regulator Going One Year Without Winding", has a big chip at the bottom of the winding arbor, and needs better attention. Hands are original. Tandem wind round plate movement with five mainsprings has been converted from pendulum regulation to a cylinder platform escapement, from a novelty clock. It could be run this way, but to make it right it needs to be converted back to a pendulum (you would need escape wheel and arbor, verge and arbor w/ crutch, side cock w/suspension, and pendulum). Would be worth $5000 except for the conversion. Height 15.5 inches
