C.1890, Austrian, Cobalt Blue Porcelain Temple Clock, with original French striking movement, 5 hand painted scenes, with 24K gold accents, large. Condition: here and there some weakening of the gold highlights due to fastidious cleaning, and some occasional residues in the crevices. Overall the porcelain is excellent and with fine detail on the paintings, all love and musical themes. This clock occurs in 3 sizes of which this is the largest, with full size bell striking movement (with sandwich glass pendulum)and colored porcelain dial with raised signets for the Roman numerals. Some scratches in the glass crystal. Height 18.5 inches
