Condition: Rosewood veneer on this clock is excellent, and with contrasting satinwood banding. The well made movement with 4 wheels has especially fine pivots and runs a full week on a small weight. This movement hangs from a central hook in the case, and is stabilized by two pointed rods that protrude from the rear of the movement. The white or milk glass dial is original, painted with blue Roman numerals. The fancy cast bezel has Gothic influence. The pendulum has a steel rod with a simple one piece disc with small rear retainer strip, the top set up for silk thread or a clevis as you choose. Three are minor losses on the molded trim around the case. There is a new Merritts molded top that is included with the clock, but we chose to do the foto without it. This is an exceptional original example of the Huygens wind system. Height 39 inches
