C.1890, English, for Shreve, Crump and Low, Boston, 3-Fusee, 8-Bell, 5-Gong, 2-tune quarter chiming bracket clock, oak veneered case.
Condition: overall good+ condition, the movement recently cleaned and chiming and striking with importance, and the bells with a fine melodious pitch. The dial is signed as in the headline, and with unusual style Arabic numerals. The pineapple finials and the reeded columns are patinated bronze, very dark. There is a key for the front door, note front door has a warp and does not close fully. No key for rear door, simple brass latch keeps it closed. The oak veneer on the top is cracked along the constructions lines, couple places void and others filled in with shellac. The minor imperfections of the case are made up when you view the large and robust movement in action. The nicely pierced oak side frets are fully intact with no missing pieces. Height 18.75 inches
