Condition: Walnut stained and veneered alt-Deutsch case with an original top and finials is in very nice condition with original finish. There are a couple of small flat veneer pieces missing on the back edge just above the bracket. Porcelain dial has some minor damage around the winding holes and is attached to a silk thread suspension movement that is original to this case. Hands are original. This is likely a case where the son of a clock-maker found a C.1840 silk thread movement that his father had made, and decided to case it up in the style of the day. Height 22.75 inches
