Condition: some loose veneer has been re-glued on the case. This late Victorian case has spring-bullet latches for both top and lower door. The 9" silvered dial has center minutes, hours below center and seconds above. The robust movement has a conventional train layout with the hours taken off the motion work on the front plate. The movement ticks cleanly, however there is some pitting on the steel work, and it must have lived near the beach for some time. The pendulum needs some attention as the rating screw is too short and needs lengthening. The bob is brass both sides and lead filled. The brass sheathed weight appears to have been shortened to its current dimension. An attention getting small size. Height 67 inches
