Condition: Large mahogany veneered case in good condition with original finish, but with some veneer loss and stress cracks where the front and back of the case join. Original 17" dial has been filled/repaired and repainted. Dial was originally fitted with a fusee timepiece movement, but now has a heavy plate chain-drive 2-fusee movement (roughly the same period) and round gong. Hands are the right type and are probably original. Cutout in the rear of the case has been recently enlarged, and would be improved with a door. This is the largest tambour case we have ever seen. Ht 27.5" [69.8 cm]
