Condition: This cast and sheet iron case is in nice condition with original winding handle. These were used in a fireplace with a support stand that could run up to two spits at the same time. The construction of this example is very robust; typical Morbier iron frame with large and heavy gears, held between a cast iron base and top. The governor fan runs in the alcove between the feet. As the spit runs down and needs winding, a small bell sends a reminder (be patient, it needs to be nearly finished before it rings). Ht 15.5" [39.7 cm]
