Condition: Tarnished brass case has dents and dings from use, but is in overall good condition. Cap on the top of the tube is missing. Case has a nice stamped label that reads: "H. Chappell, Ironmonger, no. 34 Fulham Rd, Brompton". These jacks were used to roast meat or poultry and were hung from a fireplace crane and operated by a clockwork mechanism that was wound by a key inserted in the side of the case. Ht 13" [33 cm]
