C.1890, French, Flower Clock, rare motif, with central petals revolving as the minutes, indicated by a tiny brass bug, next petal ring revolving as the hours, indicated by a fluttering insect of brass, and the numerals delicately painted on the outer 12 petals. The movement is contained within the flower pot, unsure of duration, but at least one day, perhaps more. Condition: the original white paint on the flower pot is nearly all worn off; the green paint on the leaves is about half flaked off. The burgundy color of the flower itself is remarkably well preserved. Displayed on a round wooden base, under glass dome. Ht of clock 10" [25cm], overall 11" [27.5cm]
