Condition: the rear label is missing the bottom third or so, however all of the pertinent information is there. Inside the back of the door is a small paper label that reads "Patented by Chas Kirk, April 3, 1847 No. 150; U.S.A.". The dial is original and with good imprint of "Marine Time Piece". The lower part, that says Charles Kirk, New Haven, Conn, US is very weak but you can clearly see the outline of the names. The finish on the case is original with great patina. One section of the case (from 3-4:30) got a bit close to a candle and has darkened (wouldn't bother me). The movement foto was out of focus so we used a foto from an earlier auction to show you the type of movement. If you want a Kirk, they don't get much better than this one. Ht 10" [25cm]
