Condition: Refinished mahogany veneered case with pie crust molding is in nice condition with some veneer loss at the back edges of the lower section of the case. Dial has been repainted. The maltese hands are too late for this clock. Case houses a large fusee time and strike movement that was designed in the English style with both fusees and spring barrels between the main plates. Movement is signed Chauncey Jerome. See C. Jerome 1852 catalog, as reproduced in Roberts book, The Contributions of Joseph Ives to Connecticut Clock Technology , page 274 . This movement should not be confused with the C.1890 model designed by Hiram Camp and merchandised by New Haven Ht 22" [55.8 cm]
