Condition: Mahogany case with inlayed decorative design is in very fine condition with a just little wear to the original finish on the base moldings; overall great patina with only minor crazing. Original silvered dial is tarnished with scratches and wear around the winding arbors. Hands and finials are original. This is an uncommon Sonora case; we sold a 5-bell cousin in November of 2002, lot 166. For additional information on this model, see Tran Ly's book on Seth Thomas, [3rd edition, 2005], page 166. Eight bell Sonoras are the most difficult to find. Ht 14" [35.5 cm]
